Harvesting and processing
The cornerstone of high-quality cocoa lies in the careful, manual harvesting of the cocoa fruits. Specialist knowledge and sensitivity are required to cut only ripe fruits without damaging the plant.
After opening the fruit, the beans ferment for several days and are then dried - a crucial process for aroma and quality.
Quality assurance does not start at the factory
Control during transportation & arrival
To ensure safe transportation, the cocoa beans are shipped in jute bags or loose in containers. A comprehensive quality check is carried out on arrival:

Our organic cocoa comes from extensive cultivation - in small, near-natural plots instead of large-scale monocultures. The absence of artificial irrigation, chemical fertilizers and pesticides not only protects the environment, but also the health of the producers.
The cocoa trees are often grown in mixed cultivation with bananas or coconut palms - thus maintaining the natural balance.
Careful harvesting and processing
The cocoa fruits are harvested by hand, opened and the beans carefully removed. After traditional fermentation and drying in the sun, the beans go through several stages - from roasting and grinding to the production of fine cocoa powder.
