Since J.J. Darboven was founded in Hamburg in 1866, the company has shaped coffee culture in Germany and Europe. Johann Joachim Darboven focused on innovation at an early stage: shipping freshly roasted coffee directly to households made the company one of the pioneers in the industry.

In 1927, the company entered the market with IDEE KAFFEE which still stands for quality and innovation today. Later, traditional brands such as EILLES (founded in 1873), which expanded the portfolio and laid the foundation for long-term success.

Today, J.J. Darboven continues this tradition - with brands such as Café Intención (since 1993) and initiatives such as the Shade Tree Project, which was launched in 2023, support sustainable cultivation and fair trading conditions. In this way, we combine history and experience with future-oriented action - and make responsible enjoyment a sustainable experience.
