Sustainability as company DNA
J.J. Darboven focuses on transparency, fair trade and responsibility
As a family-run company and with a 30-year history as a Fairtrade pioneer, sustainability is more than just a trend for J.J. Darboven - it is firmly anchored in the company's DNA. Juliane Schröder, Head of Sustainability, provides exciting insights into the sustainability strategy and explains how restaurateurs and hoteliers benefit from it.
Sustainability is only possible together
Sustainable coffee enjoyment is not a question of 'if', but of 'how'. As a Fairtrade pioneer, we see it as our task to develop innovative solutions and to take our partners along with us on this journey. Because one thing is clear: only together can we secure the future of coffee.
Transparency as the basis for trust
A decisive factor on this path is transparency along the entire supply chain. We rely on innovative technologies and strong partnerships to achieve this. Together with osapiens, a leading provider of digital solutions, we are working to make every step of our coffee - from cultivation to the finished product - traceable.
More than just words: our local responsibility
Sustainability starts with the people who grow our coffee. Transparent supply chains help us to promote fair working conditions and sustainable cultivation methods. With the data obtained through our collaboration with osapiens, we can better respond to the needs of our partners in the countries of origin and build long-term relationships.
Safety through audited standards
Our commitment is certified by independent institutes. Seals such as the Fairtrade and EU organic seals provide security in terms of product quality and origin. Café Intención was one of the first players in Germany to opt for Fairtrade-certified coffee 30 years ago. This experience benefits our partners in the catering and hotel industry: with our certified range, we help to meet the increasing demand from guests for organic and Fairtrade products.
